And here we have a three inch statue of one of my greatest influences.
I used to think that Claude Debussy only affected my musical side, but ever since I’ve taken up photography I’ve realized how similar the two areas are. Some of the basics of photography translate into musical theory-lines are tempo, colors are dynamics, depth of field is the melody that stands out, and so on. I’m thankful that Learning about photography has made me a better musician, and hearing Debussy’s music affects my photography.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, Debussy rocks.
“Some people wish above all to conform to the rules, I wish only to render what I can hear. There is no theory. You have only to listen. Pleasure is the law.”
I don’t mean to be a shameless self-promoter, but I thought this was relevant. I recently made a recording at home of a piece by Debussy which you can find here, if you so please.
